PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF

I am Kelvin from Indonesia. I was a dentist 12 years ago, but only after five years of practice, I realized that my passion is in the beautiful world of dental laboratories, especially in metal-free fixed restorations material like zirconia and lithium disilicate. Since my first time, I have already digitally started my lab because I have seen my father’s analog lab, which is exposed to several problems that can only be solved digitally.

So now I am a founder and Chief Technician Officer of Zirmon Dental Atelier, and also a full-time ceramist. I am happy with my daily work not only because I love the art in the field but also because digital technology like milling machines can help me ease my work and save time.

COULD YOU TELL US THE ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL CAD/CAM OVER THE ANALOGUE SYSTEM?

I have seen my father running his analogue dental lab for over 30 years. One of the most significant advantages is the analog system can’t reproduce the same design over and over again. So when there is a failed casting in the production of PFM, they have to remake the wax from scratch. But with digital: CAD/CAM system, when a restoration fail in patient’s mouth or in the middle of production, we can always find the file and put it into production right away

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN USING DGSHAPE’S PRODUCTS?

I have been using my DGSHAPE DWX-51D for 7 years without any significant problems. : )

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE ADVANTAGE OF DGSHAPE’S PRODUCTS (OVER OTHER BRANDS)

I haven’t tried other products since I started my lab with DWX 5 AXIS. But two things that I remember I put into consideration are that DGSHAPE is an open system and the quality is high standard. I think I have made the right decision.
